โ ๏ธCLINICAL USE ONLY. Always verify doses against current prescribing guidelines (BNFc, WHO Essential Medicines) and consider renal/hepatic function. Maximum doses should never be exceeded. This calculator does not replace clinical judgement. Prescribing authority must confirm all doses before administration.
๐ก Safe Prescribing
Always weigh the child โ estimate weight only as a last resort
Paracetamol: never exceed 4 doses in 24 hours or 5 days unless directed
Ibuprofen: avoid in dehydrated children, infants <3 months, and renal impairment
Amoxicillin: check for penicillin allergy before prescribing
ORS: measure carefully โ too concentrated worsens dehydration
Always complete full antibiotic courses to prevent resistance
If in doubt, consult a pharmacist or paediatrician
